I learned a lot about different leaderships skills and how to identify them within myself. I met other students and Deloitte professionals from across the nation.

What I wish was different

Nothing stands out as needing to be different.

I would say to just try to get the most out of all the leadership programs, and try to identify the difference between the company cultures of all the firms.

What I liked

I loved the people. It sounds cliche but Deloitte really does have some amazing people working at the firm and every team I was a part of was excellent.

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have had the opportunity to work in a different area of the firm, it was personal preference but after working in consulting elsewhere I would have loved to learn more about Deloitte Consulting while I was there.

Advice

Just try your best, always. Deloitte has thousands of employees and interns, if you want to stand out you have to be willing to not only put in a lot of time but a lot of quality time into your work.

Had fun intern events, lots of opportunities for networking, learned a lot about the job, on site experience and learning.

Length of internship, only had 8 weeks to learn.

Advice

Be open minded! When you have downtime use it to your advantage and network! You'll learn more than just what you're required of and it'll look better on you too. You'll discover passions within the firm that isn't necessarily related to your position which is a nice breath of fresh air.

What I liked

Interning at Deloitte was a fantastic experience! All of the recruiters were very friendly and willing to answer questions about the application or interview process. My position was as an Audit Intern where I worked with two different teams. I enjoyed my time with Deloitte since I was able to network with accounting professionals, participate in the day to day office activities, and work on my excel skills.

What I wish was different

I only wish the internship was longer. It's hard to get a basic understanding of the accounting profession in an 8 week internship.

Advice

The team you work with doesn't expect you to know much about accounting. However, they do expect you to have a positive attitude, show an eagerness to learn, and have a strong work ethic.

The company is incredible. The people on my teams were friendly and willing to walk me through anything that I didn't know. There were many opportunities to get to know the other interns throughout the summer and network with other professionals outside of my team.
