I wish there was more support from my managers, many times people would not treat us right, and they would get their way.

Do not let what customers say get to you, they might have a bad day and it is not your fault.

What I liked

The hours and management worked well with me because I actually had a total of four jobs over the summer. This job helped me prepare for my sophomore year of college and build my resume.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been able to to relate to my coworkers better because they didn't come from the same background as I did. In a way, however, it helped my get a better idea of what the workforce would really be like.

Advice

If you find it hard to relate to your coworkers, don't conform to their lifestyles. Instead, find what you already have in common with someone there and build from that.

I liked that we got trained quickly and were able to interact with customers all of the time. Having a 24-hour WalMart in a high tourist area allowed for new things every day!

What I liked

I enjoyed the pleasant interactions with customers. Helping them find items they might be searching for etc.

What I wish was different

The biggest problem was my coworkers. Not all of them took their responsibilities seriously and that made the job more difficult for the rest of us.

Advice

A job's a job. Don't take it for granted. Work hard, take it seriously; even something as "unimportant or small" as being a janitor or retail associate. Fulfill your responsibilities and you will be rewarded, don't fulfill your responsibilities and you wont be, simple as that.
